elegator trailer gate lift system. Makes heavy gates easy to lift

Asking the Right Questions About the eLegator Gate Lift Kit?

Q: Do I need any special tools?
A: You need a drill, a 1/2 inch drill bit, a leverage bar, two 3/4 inch wrenches, a tape measure, safety goggles, and gloves.

Q: Why wouldn’t you want to use cables or pulleys?
A: Bending cables that wear along turning pulleys will weaken, fray, and eventually snap. When this happens, it can whip around wildly and slice you or someone else. It’s extremely dangerous. Using those configurations can seriously harm you or leave you with serious liability problems.

Q: What do I do in case I have a warranty issue?
A: That’s easy, just contact us for a return merchandise authorization number and we’ll assist you with it from there.

Q: Couldn’t I just use a garage door spring to do the same job as the eLegator gate lift kit?
A: There are two types of garage door springs, a torsion and a stretch spring. Neither one is made to do this job. It takes the correct amount of pull force and coils along with the correct steel to make a spring safe enough to operate and do this job properly. Garage door springs are designed to twist and turn, not to stretch lengthwise. If you stretch it to work like eLegator, you could seriously injure yourself or someone else when it snaps.

Q: Why is the spring exposed?
A: The specifically engineered extension spring is manufactured of industrial strength steel, not as a garage door spring. The extension spring is left exposed because it is self cleaning and can be hosed down if needed. It also air dries and collects no grass, leaves, or other contaminants vertically, not horizontally.

Q: Will my gate fall down when I tow the trailer down the road?
A: No. You always need to use your gate pin latches to secure your gate. eLegator just took all the weight pressure away from your gate. It holds the gate up until a gentle force pushes it in either direction. Never rely on eLegator to be used to lock and hold your gate up while towing your trailer.

Q: Do you have live support for installation questions?
A: Yes. We’re always here to help you with knowledgeable answers to get you going quickly.

Q: I have children, will it pinch their hands.

Q: I see you have a rope with the unit. What’s it for?
A: It’s used for back up protection, just like a seat belt.

Q: My wife works with me in my business. Will she be able to lift the gate?
A: Yes, it will be very easy.

Q: Will eLegator twist my gate?
A: No.

Q: Are you sure there is no maintenance?
A: As with any part, it's a good idea to keep your eye on things. At the end of two year periods, you may want to take a couple of turns on the nut to tighten the spring.

Q: Will it really Install fast and easy?
A: Yes! Super Fast, usually just 15 to 20 minutes.

Q; Will it work with side gates?

Certain name competitors have carefully worded their warranty with a one (1) year limited warranty but only sixty (60) days on wear items”. Watch out for misleading statements.

Q: Does eLegator have any moving parts?
